by

megasnake01_1.jpgMichael Shanks, who played the fantastically popular character Dr. Daniel Jackson on Stargate: SG1, and who will be reprising his role in two upcoming Stargate movies, currently appears in MegaSnake.

In an interview which appeared in issue #358 of Starlog, Shanks described his character Les as a man who has become estranged from his snake-worshiping family. He gets dragged back in however when the wrong snake gets loose and causes havoc in small rural town. Shanks co-stars with actor John T. Woods.

The project first announced way back in 2004, MegaSnake disappeared off the radar for a couple years. Now in post production, MegaSnake’s release date is unclear. According to IMDb, MegaSnake is scheduled for release tomorrow, July 28, 2007. However, Woods’ site indicates that the movie will premiere on the SciFi Channel n August 25, 2007.
